In 1980, in Póvoa de Varzim, the brothers Manuel and Alípio Monte founded the company Monte & Monte (M&M), while basically carrying on its operations in works involving infrastructures, basic sewerage and water supply in the Upper Minho region, with the region´s city councils as its main customers.
The company´s diversification took place in 1992, as become M&M a public limited company, while retaining its shareholder structure that included its founders and direct family members.
