Ambisys, S.A. is a, ENVIRONMENTAL BIOTECHNOLOGY company that intervenes in an integrated fashion with its customers, with the aim of rehabilitating and innovating and not merely in supplying standard solutions, as this factor causes the company to stand out in the marketplace.
Its shareholder make-up includes the vast entrepreneurial experience of MonteAdriano, SGPS and Ecovisão, as well as the scientific knowledge of two R&D Researchers in Environmental Biotechnology from the University of Minho, with proven domestic and international reputation in its field of specialization. This way, Ambisys becomes a means of transferring highly specialized technology, in order to respond to market needs.

Fields of Intervention:

> Treatment of Effluents and Wastes:

- Design, project, management, execution, maintenance and technical services for the treatment of effluents and wastes via aerobic and anaerobic processes, including the quest for economic and financial solutions;
- rehabilitation and upgrade of effluent and waste treatment systems;

> R&D and Transfer of Technology

- Start-up by the University of Minho for research and development into new products/ technologies, targeting the needs of the market and offering solutions tailored to customer needs;
- IASB technology for the treatment of complex effluents with a high fat content (the right to market this patent - WO2007058557, held by the UM);

> Bioenergy

- anaerobic treatment of effluents, from the design, startup and monitoring of facilities requiring energy consumption;
- Bioenergy Project – the development of tailored solutions, by making use of biogas obtained from the treatment of wastes and effluents;
- eco-physiological diagnostics on the microbial community of anaerobic reactors via the application of the Biogas Driver tool:

  • Biomax – “biogas maximization” – Evaluation of the potential biodegradability of the overall effluent and comparison with the theoretical maximum;
  • Biotox - "biogas toxicity" - toxicity tests to evaluate the overall and / or specific toxicity of the effluent;
  • Bioact - "biogas activity" - specific methanogenic activity in three key individual subcontracts, namely in acetate, hydrogen and ethanol.
